Healthy Snack Ideas

There is no shortage of healthy snack options for kids. However, for toddlers a lot of them are sugar-heavy and a lot of them are loaded with calories and sodium. Here are some healthy options for your family that won’t just set you back time and money, but will make sure your kids are getting all the nutrients they need. These snack ideas for kids are low in sugar and high in protein and fiber. Snack Ideas For Kids With Low Sugar

  • Cookies - These aren’t all-sugar cookies either! You can use coconut oil instead of butter or use unsweetened applesauce or mashed bananas instead of refined sugar
  • Barley Breakfast Bars - Perfect if you want to keep some guilt at bay too! They’re made with oats, vanilla flaxseed meal, almond butter, banana and chocolate chips (no sugar added). No need for artificial sweeteners either!
  • Granola Bars - Ingredients? Sure – who doesn’t like granola? These bars have honey, dates, almonds and pecans as well as cinnamon in them. Give it a try if your kids like granola bars; it might be their favorite one around the house now! The ingredients listed here include only wholesome ingredients that your family will enjoy eating regularly so there’s no guilt about eating them
  • Banana Bread - This one has been so popular lately that I decided to give it a try as well – but without adding any butter at all! It’s based on other people’s recipes though so it might not be perfect on its own. Substitute 2 eggs + 1 egg yolk + 2 tsp vanilla extract + 3 tbsp melted coconut oil + 1 tsp apple cider vinegar + 3 tbsp water (or any other liquid) for the butter/butter substitute recipe
  • Carrot Cake Roll - This is basically an old-fashioned carrot cake rolled into a roll. Substitute 1 cup shredded carrots for the chopped carrots recipe below. Replace 2 egg whites (one whole egg white and one egg yolk) + 1 tbsp water with shredded carrots+ apple cider vinegar + cinnamon powder+ baking soda+ baking powder

All Natural Kids Snack Options

Some healthy snack ideas for kids what are some healthy snack options to give to you kids instead of sugar and candy. Here are a few examples:

  • Apple or orange juice. It is just as good, but has a bit more fiber.
  • Olive or berry juice. Both are great sources of vitamin C, so giving them to your kids may help them stay healthy and have energy.
  • Mango chips. They are high in fiber too, so they’re a good option for someone who wants that bonus extra fiber from fruit.
  • Nuts or seeds: These are great for people on a diet because they have easy-to-digest protein and can be stored in the refrigerator for later use (either alone or mixed with something else). Usually it’s best if you buy the nuts somewhere where you can see them in their shell (like Trader Joe’s). You can also try smaller nuts like cashews or walnuts if you’re not sure how far to go with the whole thing. It depends on how much your child likes nuts, but also depends on what he/she likes better — either kind of nut is fine once they get used to it; they just won’t seem as nutritious without the shell.
